Dedicated to serving his clients and ensuring they feel heard and seen, John Bayer is a senior advisor who has been with Renaissance Financial since 1997. His extensive experience includes working closely with individuals and their families, business owners and executives, professionals, and entrepreneurs. He specializes in helping his clients develop, implement and maintain all-encompassing financial strategies to work toward their goals.
John takes pride in educating his clients so they can fully participate in the planning process. His areas of focus include wealth accumulation, asset protection, tax-saving optimization, and charitable giving. He also coordinates with attorneys and accountants for estate planning and wealth management. When working with business owners and entrepreneurs, John works closely with the firm’s retirement and group health department for retirement and employee benefits.
In addition to his client work, John is a Renaissance Shareholder and valued mentor to new financial professionals. He is a Renaissance Platinum Advisor* member as of 2021, which illustrates his dedication to this team and profession. In 2012, he was presented with the Renaissance Tom Hercules Award, granted annually based on the previous year, for displaying integrity, generosity, leadership, and commitment both personally and professionally. Throughout his time as a financial advisor, John has qualified for Securian Financial Services' Senate Club* in 2013, 2017 and 2019 and for the President's Club* in 2014-2016, 2018, 2020, and 2021. He was also a member of MDRT in 2013 - 2016. He is also an Investment Committee member, which establishes and monitors investment policies at Renaissance.
John takes pride in supporting many local charities and institutions including the St. Louis Foodbank, Angels Arms and the Little Bit Foundation. John is a lifelong Cardinal fan with a depth of knowledge in all things baseball, and a music lover with an enthusiasm for his bands that is unmatched.
John is a life-long Kirkwood resident, where he lives with his wife, Maggie, and their three children, Lily, Gigi, and Jack. John graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, emphasizing economics.
