Steve Kontz, CLU®, ChFC®
As the President of Renaissance Financial, Steve excels as a leader and a noted Platinum Advisor* producer for the firm as of 2021. His passion for the financial industry is a true inspiration to the team. Steve is dedicated to the growth and success of each financial professional and spends time traveling to each of Renaissance Financial’s offices across the country. He gained extensive experience in the insurance and financial services industries from both Securian Financial Services, Inc. and Prudential Financial, Inc. Prior to joining Renaissance Financial in 2005, Steve was a Vice President with Securian Financial Group’s Advisor Services Unit, leading all field management, sales, and retention for their Individual Division. While at Prudential, Steve rose from Financial Advisor to Managing Partner within 5 years, overseeing financial professionals in the Dakotas, Nebraska, and Iowa.
Steve graduated from Mankato State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business. Steve holds the FINRA Series 4, 6, 7, 24, 63 and 65 registrations. He earned the Chartered Life Underwriter® and Chartered Financial Consultant® designations from the American College, as well as the Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor℠ designation from the College for Financial Planning.
The passion you see from Steve goes beyond the office. Whether he is giving back to the community or spending time with his family he devotes 100 percent to everything. He is a lifetime sponsor of Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. Steve served on the Big Brothers Big Sister Executive Board and the Mid-America Council Board of Trustees for the Boy Scouts of America. Steve is involved with the University of Nebraska Med Center Child Life Department and he also sits on the Creighton School of Business Advisory Council. Steve serves as a Chairman of the Securian National Advisory Board and is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization. Steve has been married to his wife, Kelly, for 26 years. They are honored to be the host couple of the 2019 Heart and Stroke Ball. They are grateful for the blessings bestowed upon them and lead by example showing their sons, Nick and Alex, what it means to give back. They can be seen following their son Alex on the lacrosse fields of Ole Miss or in Phoenix with their son, Nick.

Stacy joined the Renaissance Financial team in 2010, bringing six years of experience in the financial industry with her. The enthusiasm she has in working with clients is a tremendous asset to both Steve and the other advisors in the office. Clients enjoy her passion and her commitment to helping them walk through the steps needed in achieving their financial goals. This enthusiasm is seen outside of the office as well as Stacy enjoys spending time with her husband, Kirt, and their two children. As a family, they are involved in many outdoor activities and sports. She is proud to call Omaha, Nebraska home and loves being a part of the community.

Melissa brings over fifteen years of customer service experience with her to Renaissance Financial. A former optician and sales manager, she loves the fast-changing nature of the financial services industry and making an impact in people’s lives. Melissa enjoys working with a wide range of clients, assisting them in initial and ongoing services. The culture of teamwork at Renaissance Financial and the ability to keep learning and pushing herself is key to her effectiveness. Originally from Salt Lake City, Melissa has enjoyed many adventures, including driving to Alaska and living there for six months. Her favorite quote is by Audrey Hepburn, who said, “Nothing is impossible. The word itself says, ‘I’m possible.” Melissa lives in Omaha with her three “dog daughters” and holds her Life and Health, and Series 6 registrations.

Cindy began working with Steve in 2000 and brought a tremendous amount of financial knowledge to the team. The experience she gained from working at Prudential Financial for over thirty years helped make her a valuable asset to advisors, staff and most importantly clients. Cindy has attained her Associate Customer Service designation, holds her FINRA Series 6 and 63 registrations, and is part of the LOMA Program. She not only acts as the Executive Assistant to Steve, but she has the role of Office Manager as well. Cindy is a tremendous asset to Renaissance Financial, and to the community. She has worked closely with the UNMC Child Life Department since 1994. She is a great wife, mother and a very proud grandmother.
