Matt is a seasoned financial professional with over 30 years of experience in serving the needs of clients. He is an accredited Certified Public Accountant, and Personal Financial Specialist, and has earned the designation of Certified Advisor for Senior Living. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs Personal Financial Planning Section.

Matt's areas of special interest are portfolio management, preparing families for retirement, and assisting those going through the unfamiliar situation of widowhood. Matt also has, and always will have, a special place in his heart for taxation issues.

At Renaissance, Matt is honored with some of the highest honors at the firm, including the Tom Hercules Award* in 2016 for displaying qualities including integrity, generosity, leadership, and commitment both personally and professionally. Matt received a Master of Science in Taxation from Fontbonne University, a Master of Business Administration from Webster University, and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Matt enjoys being a Permanent Deacon in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. He is married to his best friend, Gina and they have four children, Sarah, Kaitie, Claire and Nicholas.

Kayla Effner

Assistant

As Matt Witte’s assistant, Kayla is dedicated to supporting the client-focused approach of Renaissance Financial. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Kayla attended Old Dominion University in Virginia where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree, and Tidewater Community College where she received her Associate of Arts degree.

In her former role as executive assistant for Cape Henry Collegiate, she catalogued, managed and digitized thousands of student records. She then went on to rewrite textbooks for English language learners at Parkway North High School in St. Louis.

At Renaissance, Kayla shares in Matt’s dedication to his clients’ financial goals and looks forward to continuously educating herself in the financial industry. She also appreciates the firm’s emphasis on philanthropic work as she is passionate about organizations focused on animal welfare.

With St. Louis as her home, Kayla currently resides in the Cherokee neighborhood with her mini longhaired dachshund, Bailey.
