Obtaining Your Information
Renaissance Financial collects certain confidential information from you as a customer. We collect your personal information when you open an account or deposit money, apply for insurance, seek advice about your investments or direct us to buy or sell your securities. The types of personal information we collect and share depend upon the product or service you have with us. This information can include Social Security number and income, account balances and transaction history, medical information and risk tolerance. You supply this information to Renaissance, for example, when you open an account or apply for insurance, enter into an investment advisory contract, seek advice about your investments, or tell us about your investment or retirement portfolio. We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates or other companies.
How We Use Your Information
Renaissance Financial uses your personal information for our everyday business purposes such as processing your transactions, maintaining your account(s), responding to court orders and legal investigations, or reporting to credit bureaus.
Keeping Your Information Accurate and Secure
To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings. Renaissance Financial informs and trains its employees, both at the time of hire and at annual follow-ups, stressing the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy.
Disclosing Information to Affiliates
Renaissance Financial may disclose information among its affiliates for everyday business purposes, such as processing your transactions, maintaining your account(s), responding to court orders and legal investigations, or reporting to credit bureaus. We may share information about your transactions and experiences and for our affiliates to offer and provide you with additional products and services that may be available through our company. However, we will not share information about your creditworthiness.
Disclosing Information to Non-Affiliates
Renaissance Financial’s policy is to not share your confidential information with non-affiliated external organizations except for everyday business purposes such as processing your transactions, maintaining your account(s), responding to court orders and legal investigations, or reporting to credit bureaus. We may disclose any of the information we collect, as described in the section entitled Obtaining Your Information.
Renaissance Financial may share your personal information to non-affiliates for marketing additional products and services to you. You may elect to opt out of such disclosure by calling 1-888-237-1838. Doing so will prevent Renaissance Financial from sharing your personal information in the event your representative should transfer his or her securities registration to another firm or sell his or her securities business to an unaffiliated representative. Federal law gives you the right to limit only sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes, information about your creditworthiness, and affiliates from using your information to market to you. If you live in California, North Dakota or Vermont, we are required to obtain your affirmative consent to share your personal information with a non-affiliate. If you limit sharing for an account that you hold jointly with someone else, your choices will apply to everyone on your account.
