Since 2006, Tom Whiteing has built a successful practice through his dedication to serving others and his commitment to helping clients achieve financial freedom.  Supported by the collaborative structure of RFC, Tom uses his knowledge of the ever-changing economic environment to create a personalized strategy that is structured for each individual.

He has also maintained many leadership roles within the firm; including shareholder, Investment Committee member and Director of Advisor Development in both Kansas City and Omaha.  Naturally, this passion to lead has aligned his practice with medical professionals, business owners and industry decision-makers.

Since joining the firm in 2006, Tom earned several awards and recognitions in his earlier years for his work, sales performance, and dedication to the team.  Tom’s efforts were recognized by the firm and he took on the role of Sales Manager in 2011. He was named Securian’s Gold Managing Director of the Year* in 2013 for helping build a successful team in Kansas City. This award recognizes outstanding managing directors, who play a vital role in the growth of their firms.  As the Field Director in Omaha, Tom achieved Securian's Silver Field Director of the Year* award in 2016 & 2018, and the Gold* level of that award in 2017.  In 2018, the Midlands Business Journal selected Tom to become an honoree for the 40 Under 40 Award*, a recognition saluting his outstanding success.

Outside of the office, Tom is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys remaining active in his community.  He was selected to Class VIII of Leadership Nebraska, dedicating time with class members to strengthen their knowledge of the economic and political challenges and opportunities in Nebraska communities.  Tom serves as a Scrubs Ambassador and actively supports the Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha. He has served as Chairman for the Omaha Chapter of Ducks Unlimited as well as their State Campaign Committee, sat on the Board of Directors for FarmHouse Fraternity’s Nebraska Chapter, and was an Omaha Charter Member for Rotaract. 

While proud of his accomplishments in the office and community, Tom is most proud of his family. He and his wife Kelli are raising three boys, together they enjoy travel, food and staying active.

Julia Nelson

Julia’s passion for helping others achieve their goals drew her to Renaissance Financial, where the collaborative work environment empowers her to deliver superior support to clients. As someone who is dedicated to building quality relationships, Julia strives continuously to enhance the customer experience.

In her previous roles as client service representative at Lutz Financial Services and administrative assistant at Morrissey Engineering, Julia managed multiple responsibilities with attention to detail and a focus on facilitating client success. She has volunteered for numerous organizations and serves as President of the Parents Club for the Alpha Phi International Fraternity.

Julia received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior architecture from the School of the Art Institute Museum of Chicago. A Chicago native, she moved to Omaha with her family fifteen years ago. Julia and her husband have been married for over 28 years and have six children.
